Women for Refugee Women (WRW) is a small charity that raises awareness of injustices experienced by women who seek refuge in the UK.
We carry out effective media and lobbying work in partnership with other organisations, and also support a self-help group of women refugees. We are seeking to recruit a Grassroots Co-ordinator who will help to take forward our vision of challenging the injustices experienced by women and children asylum seekers. This role will focus on developing the self-help group, Women Asylum Seekers Together London, and empowering asylum seekers to take part in media and campaigning work.
You will need to have some knowledge of the issues facing women refugees in the UK, which you may have gained through personal experience. You will need to be committed to working for social justice. You will have experience of working with grassroots or community groups. You will also need good communication and administrative skills, and to be able to manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
