Art Exhibition & Panel Discussion- Artists 4 Human Rights & Social Justice

The art exhibition and panel discussion which took place on Friday 31st July and Saturday 1st August in Wimbledon, London was a success – particularly in raising awareness on the issues of Women in Conflict and Violence against Women.
The event, which was opened by the Mayor of Merton, also managed to raise some funds for UNIFEM Ghana’s 5 year programme for the elimination of VAW through the sales of cards and books donated by the artists involved.
The speeches were very informative and focused on issues such as honour crimes, FGM & Early Child marriage and the conflict women face in the workplace and there were many compliments about the paintings exhibited. Thank you to all of you who were able to attend. We’re planning another event in the near future which we hope will be bigger and better and hope you will support us once again.
