The Haven Wolverhampton is pleased to announce that it will be holding an International Conference on 9th March 2009 at The Light House, Fryer Street, Wolverhampton.

The conference – entitled ‘Improving Futures: Working Together to End Domestic Violence – New Solutions for a New World’ – will mark 35 years of work of The Haven Wolverhampton and will also fall on International Women’s week.
The conference will bring together speakers and officials from across the globe to talk about Domestic Violence and its implications in various different sectors and settings. The event aims to aid the sharing of best practice , publicise new ways of working to prevent Domestic Violence and bring to light the latest research on rebuilding the lives of those affected by this form of abuse.

The conference is open to anybody – from specialist speakers to those who would simply like to know more about the subject.

This is a wonderful opportunity for guests to listen to speakers who will examine methods and techniques which can help to turn the lives around of those who are affected by Domestic Violence as well as gain an insight into how Domestic Violence is tackled in various parts of the world. We hope that guests will learn from this experience and embrace new culture. Speakers include MP Margaret Moran, Professor Liz Kelly from London Metropolitan University and Casey Gwin & Gael Strack from the Family Justice Centre Alliance in the USA.
